Landscape in Strips - Sept 26 @1pm - F2024
Instructor: Linda Kvill
Skill Level: Advanced
With a different set of “Coloring Crayons” you will create your landscape scene called “A Pastoral” from Cathy Geier’s book, “Lovely Landscape Quilts”.
You will start with a jelly roll of pastel colours that are sewn in strips for your meadows, hills and sky; this creates the background for your gorgeous landscape art quilt. Sewing these strips is made easy using stabilizer as a foundation. Jelly roll strips make your composition easy.
To continue your masterpiece you will applique your tree, flowers and bushes. The tree canopy uses a technique which may be new to you, use tulle and wash-a-way stabilizer to personalize your landscape elements!
In completing your masterpiece you will use colored thread in your free motion quilting doing thread painting to add color creating highlights, shadows and details.
Finishing options: Mount as-is onto a “Back Stapled Canvas”, or add borders to finish the edges to hang your project.
Finished size with borders; 22” x 33”.
Finished size with the Canvas Mounting (no borders) will be 16” x 20"
