Meet Lori!

My passion for fabric ignited at the age of seven when I began sewing outfits for my Barbie dolls. As I honed my skills, I found it easier to create garments for myself, though I often faced challenges with fitting. This led me to explore quilting, which satisfied my quest for the perfect fit!
Frustrated with the quality of fabrics available at large retailers, I made the decision to open my own shop, offering high-quality fabrics for myself and other sewing enthusiasts.

Lori's Country Cottage proudly holds the title of the largest dedicated quilt shop in Alberta.Better Homes and Garden's recognized Lori’s Country Cottage as one of the Top Ten Quilt Shops, featured in the May 2012 publication of Quilt Sampler Magazine.Lori's Country Cottage Owner, Lori Bosecke, opened Lori’s Country Cottage, in 1993 as a fabric store. The store featured dress making fabrics and a handful of quilting fabrics and tools. In the process of setting up her business, a sales representative predicted the store would evolve into a quilt shop before the year was up. He was right. Lori enjoys the entertainment part of the business, such as planning events that are educational, promotional and fun.She continues to increase her quilting knowledge and skills by attending Quilt Market each Fall and the H+H show in the Spring (so she can improve the store and share news of the latest industry trends, products, and technologies). Lori’s interests include quilting, sewing, crafting, cooking, gardening, travelling, marketing, and entertaining, but her biggest passion is her family, including her husband, daughter, son-in-law, two granddaughters, son, and daughter-in-law.

Quilt Sampler Top Ten Quilt Shop

Lori's Country Cottage is honored and proud to have been chosen from 3000 eligible shops, as a Better Homes and Gardens, Quilt Sampler Top Ten Quilt shop. A team from the magazine photographed the store and interviewed Lori for a multi-page profile of the shop that appeared in the May 2012 Quilt Sampler. The Northern View quilt and the pattern are showcased in the magazine.
