Basics of Quilting - Fun & Finished - Sept 25 @6pm - F2024
Instructor: Gail Schaffler
Skill Level: Confident Beginner
This class is designed for anyone wanting to learn to quilt, or for those that need a refresher of their quilting skills. During the 6 classes, students learn rotary cutting, how to follow a pattern, block construction, quilt assembly and how to attach borders. The second last class is dedicated to binding, where students will learn a simple quilting technique to prepare a small sample and will sew on a binding, learn how to navigate the corners when binding and how to hand stitch a binding. On another sample, students will practice sewing a 2 color machine-sewn binding and learn how to join the binding ends on a quilt. In the final class, students will stitch their binding onto the beautiful quilt they’ve made.
The pattern we will be using is Links. All students will make the throw size quilt that finishes at approx. 53” x 73”.
