"The Marie Arena Bag is the next clear purse you want to bring to an entertainment or sporting event. With clear bag policies here to stay, the 3 different sizes of this design will fit within most major venue guidelines. This pattern provides a different silhouette from the Emma Stadium Bag while the construction still allows you to customize your creations! This pattern was designed to be a quick project with an approach to working with clear vinyl where most of the sewing is over fabric. The bias binding doubles to hold hardware while the finish eliminates any rigid turningat the end. It also adds color and so much  style by outlining Marie’s various shapes. The accent area allows you to add some personality with different fabrics and you can even add ribbon overlay & patches for extra fun. The Small & Medium views include removable straps that adjust while the Large view has sew-in handles which outline the slip pockets.

In this pattern, you will learn how to work with clear vinyl & add bias binding with a short-cut method. You will also use a D-Ring design which allows for a more secure installation on clear vinyl.

This style of stadium bag was designed with 12-20 gauge clear or printed vinyl in mind. The Small and Large views use 12 gauge vinyl, which is more pliable than the 20 gauge. However, if you are looking for more structure, the Medium view uses 20 gauge for the body pieces and 16 for the gusset. As you work through the bag, you may need a hair dryer or heat gun to help stretch the vinyl around the curves. These tools also help to reduce the look of feed dog marks and unwanted stitch holes from accidental sewing seams. Many arena events are outside and you have to be ready for any type of weather.I highly recommend using waterproof canvas to keep your bag safe from the elements. You can omit the interfacing depending on the weight of your fabric. If you use cotton canvas, please cut the recommended interfacing.
