Rags & Threads - Wed Feb 5 @6pm - W2025

Skill Level: Advanced Beginner
Have you ever dreamed of creating a rag quilt? Rag quilts are a unique style of quilt characterized by their exposed seams, which fray after washing. Typically made from squares or strips sewn together, the seams are snipped at regular intervals to encourage this fraying effect. In this class, you will create several small quilt sandwiches, consisting of two layers of fabric with batting in between, which you'll baste together. After that, we'll experiment with thread to quilt them, using either a straight stitch in an “X” pattern, free motion quilting, or decorative stitches. Once all your rows are assembled, we will snip the seams, wash the quilt, and then your masterpiece will be complete.
