Celebration of Quilts

Celebration of Quilts

The Celebration of Quilts is held in the Salsibury Greenhouses to showcase quilts and bring awareness to the Diabetes Society of Alberta. Many of these quilts are tagged with stories from the quilters and many have truly inspiration stories to tell.

The Celebration of Quilts has been highlighted on the Global Morning News with Lorraine Mansbridge. Each year there are about 200 quilts on display. Pictures are welcome and with proper hand wear you can touch and examine the quilts.

Several times in the past we have had award winning quilts on display. You can also judge the quilts for "Best of the Day'.

A small admission is charged as an entrance with all proceeds being donated to the Diabetes Society of Alberta.

Salisbury Green Houses is a locally owned business located just South of Sherwood Park.

Pillowcasechallenge

Make a PillowCase - Make A Difference

Calling all quilters, sewers and crafters! American Patchwork & Quilting and Lori's Country Cottage is challenging you to join our efforts to Make a Pillowcase, Make a Difference. Every pillowcase can make a difference in your community. A pillowcase can provide comfort for a cancer patient, hope for a foster child, encouragement for a battered woman, or beauty for a nursing home resident. Lori's pillowcases that you submit will go to the  Cardiac and General Surgery units at the Stollery Children's  Hospital.

The smiles from the children make this project so worth it! Don’t forget that the Million Pillowcase Challenge continues for the whole year! Your fabric, finished pillowcases and help at the workshops is essential to the success of the program. Keep your donations coming!

Next Workshop is scheduled for April 15th    10 - 4 PM
During the "FREE" workshop you will be given instructions to design and craft a pillowcase. All pillowcases made in these workshops are donated into the Pillowcase Challenge
